The Sumatran Tigers

Habitat: Montane forests, the remaining blocks of the
island's lowland forest, peat swamps, and freshwater swamp forests.
Location: Sumatra, in Western Indonesia.
Interesting facts: They have webbing between their toes and have white spots behind their ears which animals mistake for eyes.
Sumatran tigers is the smallest of all living tigers. It roams from lowland forest to highland forest. Experts think that the Sumatran tigers is smaller in size is becuse of the limited natural habitat they live in. They also think that Sumatran tigers are smaller because what they eat is smaller(less) unlike what the others can eat. Because of their small habitat, which is full of high grass, their stripes are closer together. Which allows them to blend in easliy. They also have more fur on their face and neck. Sumatran tigers are really fast swimmers. One of their ways to catch their pray is to chase them into the water. Male Sumatran tigers is average 8 feet in length. Which is 2.4 meters from head to tail. They weigh about 265 pounds. Female Sumatran tigers average 7 feet in length, which is 2.2 meters from head to tail and weigh about 200 pounds.
